How we publish

Editorial Policy

Our public content and reports must make it clear what is sourced, what is calculated, what is estimated, and what still requires professional confirmation.

Source hierarchy

Financial, tax, utility, incentive, policy, and production claims use primary sources whenever available: government agencies, regulators, utilities, public research laboratories, and manufacturer documents. Every sensitive claim should carry an effective or verification date. We do not silently advance a displayed year when a dataset has not changed.

Extraction and calculations

Document extraction and report explanations may not create measurements, market figures, tax rules, package features, or customer outcomes. Numerical analysis is performed by deterministic functions and should be reproducible from the stated inputs.

Authorship and review

Current pages are published by the Solar Quote Checker editorial team. We identify a named specialist reviewer only after that person has reviewed the page and agreed to public attribution. Internal report checks do not replace legal, tax, financial, engineering, or installation advice.

Independence and conflicts

Installers, lenders, equipment manufacturers, and lead marketplaces cannot pay to change a finding, ranking, source selection, or score. Any future sponsorship or commercial relationship will be disclosed on the relevant page.

Updates and corrections

Material updates change the visible verification date. Confirmed errors are corrected in place and recorded under our corrections policy.
