This indexable HTML preview explains the inputs, calculations, evidence limits, and questions in one deterministic fictional report. The downloadable PDF is generated from the same fixture and production template.

Illustrative fictional sample. The homeowner, installer, equipment, and proposal are invented. This public fixture is generated by the same deterministic calculation and PDF pipeline used by the product; it is not customer data or a human-reviewed opinion.

Illustrative report preview

What the analysis makes visible

The example starts with a fictional 9 kW financed proposal, its printed cash alternative, and calculations traceable to the fields shown below.

Printed cash price
$27,000
Amount financed
$34,600
Price difference
$7,600
Cash price per watt
$3.00/W

What this sample checks

  • Price per watt from the stated pre-incentive cash price and DC system size
  • The printed financed amount compared directly with the same system's printed cash price
  • Whether the $7,600 price difference is itemized or explained in the proposal
  • A transparent comparison with a published national historical pricing distribution
  • Whether equipment models and warranty terms are actually stated
  • Specific questions to send back to the installer before signing

Important evidence limits

  • The $7,600 figure is the arithmetic difference between the two printed prices. The report does not automatically label that difference a dealer fee or claim it is improper; it asks for a written itemization.
  • The fictional quote states 12,600 kWh of annual production. The public fixture uses a generic 1,400 kWh-per-kW placeholder, so it does not treat that placeholder as an independent production check.
  • The price screen is a national historical distribution, not a current state-specific quote or a verdict on an installer.
  • The inverter model is intentionally missing so the sample shows how an incomplete field becomes a concrete question.

Calculations and evidence stay separate

Arithmetic such as price per watt is deterministic: the engine uses fields extracted from the proposal and shows the formula. External benchmarks and electricity rates retain their publisher, metric, geography, effective date, retrieval date, methodology, and known limitations. Narrative text explains those results but does not invent a score, price, production figure, or savings value.

Proposal facts

Price, system size, equipment, production claim, warranties, financing, incentives, and payment terms actually present in the document.

Computed checks

Price per watt, applicable evidence screens, production provenance, savings assumptions, completeness, and rule-based flags.

Actionable output

Plain-language limits, questions for the installer, and a checklist for terms that still need written confirmation.

What the sample does not claim

It does not endorse an installer, promise production or savings, provide engineering, legal, tax, or financial advice, or turn a national historical price distribution into a state-specific market quote. A fallback production placeholder may be displayed for context, but it cannot be used to accuse an installer or validate a production claim as independently modeled.
